BacuVance Insect Protein Expression

Handles complex proteins with ease

GenScript's BacuVance baculovirus / Insect cell expression system was developed by our in-house team of scientists to enable virus production and expression of recombinant proteins from baculovirus-infected insect cells. This expression system supports improved protein solubility and incorporation of post-translational modifications. It can simultaneously express multiple genes to form heterodimers or polymers (i.e., consisting mostly of 5 subunits) and produce intracellular and secreted proteins at higher yields. Our high throughput insect expression & purification platform is also available for small-scale production to fit your target screening projects.

GenScript can leverage the baculovirus expression system to support the production of difficult-to-express proteins, such as kinases, viral targets, cell surface receptors, transporters, various enzymes, and membrane proteins. As the function of membrane proteins is frequently implicated in disease states, these proteins currently account for over 60% of all drug targets. Despite their biological relevance, membrane protein research is often limited by the challenges of expressing and purifying these proteins. Backed by a team of experts in membrane protein production, GenScript can express and purify membrane proteins while preserving their structural and functional integrity. Mammalian

Recombinant Protein Expression in Mammalian System

The mammalian system is ideal for protein expression of human or other mammalian proteins for proper folding and appropriate post-translational modifications. However, the yields of mammalian transient expression systems are often modest, requiring large volume scale-up where the time and cost quickly add up. With over 18+ years of development in protein expression, GenScript has developed the proprietary TurboCHO™ expression system for the high-titer production of recombinant antibodies and proteins. The TurboCHO™ expression system enables the delivery of functional recombinant proteins and antibodies with higher yields compared to regular transient expression. Secreted proteins and antibodies can be produced in a cost-effective way for your functional, structural, and therapeutic studies, within a short timeframe. Moreover, GenScript also offers the HEK 293 cells for your choice.
